Andrew Patterson took the honours in a very tightly contested battle
The temperatures have lifted to the high 20s and we had a massive range of winds today in front of the cold front expected tomorrow afternoon. It started as a good north west breeze of around 5-10 knots as we set up a course along the western side of the course. Windy.com promised northerly breezes of 3 - 10 knots which would have been fun if it actually happened but it didn't, as per normal. The breeze changed to easterly then back to north easterly and finished the afternoon with a north westerly. All over the place, which is fine because all boats are subject to fluctuations but if you are chasing it is not easy.
We had a great fleet of 12 boats show up for todays regatta. We spread the field out so nearly everyone had a clean start and no excuse for being blocked or in the mangle on the start. Massive credit to the guns who are gaining in number as outliers on the scoreboard. When we look at the results perhaps we need to start them further out.
Well done to the top three, Andrew Patterson, Graeme Elliott and Jason Poutsma. Great sailing to you guys and as the consistency score shows there was not much between them all day. Just 0.6 of a place (generated by aFleet for scoring).
