DF65 Scratch Results from 22nd August

A small fleet of mostly long distance travelling members filled the start line today. They had reasonably good breezes early and for the most part dry conditions until the last race when a shower threatened so everyone packed up quickly and fled for home. The last race copped the calm post rainfall effect and it was decided to stop as 11 races had been completed.

 

Unfortunately Ross had performed a swan dive over his grandchild recently and has cracked some ribs, so was home recovering. Donks was up at Hillarys teaching DF65 Sailing and rigging to their Navy Cadets as part of the SailLab program. We also had several members whom have travelled to warmer weather up north of the state. We hope the sailing was fun and that we were missed.

 

A huge thank you to the skippers that assisted Steven Lee and Kevin Matthews set up a course and to collect it when you finished. Having the fleet assist spreads the workload and makes the whole process far easier, so "thank you".  It was also reported that Phil Plowman stayed after #257 misbehaved and he was the scorer for the remainder of the afternoon. Cheers Phil.

 

Congratulations to Janet for starting the afternoon with a red hot win and setting a high bar, still got that hunger...  Also noted that Gary Goodall snuck a win in race 3 while Nick was PRO. There were some strong skippers racing among that small number.

 

Your winner was Mr Consistency, Nick Jerwood dominating through all the conditions thrown at them. Well sailed, Nick!  In Second place, on an aFleet countback was Janet Jerwood from Jason Poutsma both on 23 points. I bet there was banter during those finishes.
